Fall Pizza Ideas That Embrace Seasonal Ingredients

Seasonal ingredients are not just for salads; they are great on pizza as well. This fall, change up your toppings and try out some fall-inspired ideas. Pizza is great and can be enjoyed in so many different ways.

Fall Pizza #1: Thanksgiving Toppings

One of the defining holidays of the fall is Thanksgiving, and with Thanksgiving, you are generally left with lots of leftovers that can be delicious on a pizza. With a thanksgiving pizza, you are going to make the most of your leftovers.

You will mix cheddar cheese with some leftover mash potatoes and use that for the base. Then, you will top the pizza with some shredded turkey meat, little stuffing balls, and a drizzle of cranberry sauce. It makes an incredibly tasty pizza and allows you to use up your Thanksgiving leftovers as well.

Fall Pizza #2: Ricotta with Roasted Fall Veggies

Take some of your favorite fall vegetables, such as carrots, potatoes, onions, and sweet potatoes, and roast them up. Then, put some mozzarella and ricotta cheese on the crust, top with the roasted vegetables, and sprinkle on a few fresh rosemary leaves for a cheesy pizza with a local fall vegetable twist.

Fall Pizza #3: Autumn Apple

Autumn is the time of year when apples shine, and they can taste really great on your pizza as well. This creation has a cheese base of grated gouda cheese with freshly grated parmesan. Then, top with caramelized onions, garlic, and bacon, and complete with thinly sliced pieces of apple.

Fall Pizza #4: Red Onions and Brussel Sprouts

If Brussels sprouts got a bad rap when you were a child, it is time to try them again, as they are a delicious vegetable and taste great on pizza. Use a bit of garlic oil for the base, some fresh mozzarella for the cheese, and some thinly shaved Brussel sprouts, combined with some nice thin cuts of red onion. Take this up a notch with some crushed red pepper flakes.

Fall Pizza #5: Sausage and Broccoli

For this pizza, you will want to cook up some of your favorite sausage and then crumble it up to go on the top. Pair it with some soft cheese and some sliced broccoli for a pizza that is both tasty, fatty, and healthy at the same time.

Fall Pizza #6: Potato

If you love potatoes, why not put them on your pizza? This one requires a little bit of prep work but can taste amazing. Small Yukon gold potatoes are peeled nice and thin; then, they are placed in a bowl of salt water to soften them up. After that, the potatoes are brushed with olive oil and seasoning, mixed with onions and peppers, and placed on the pizza for a tasty meal.

With pizza, there are endless options for variety, which is why you should try out some new topping combinations this fall.

About Me

Learning More About Dining Out

When my family and I moved overseas, we realized that we were going to have to do something a little different for dinner. Because our new apartment was exceptionally small, I realized that there were some serious problems with the idea of eating at home each and every night. I wanted to make dining more comfortable for my kids, so we decided to start dining out most nights of the week. It was a fun adventure, and before we knew it, we found all kinds of great restaurants near our home. Check out this blog to learn more about dining out.
